THE JOB:
Based in Luxembourg, reporting directly to the Regional Treasurer EMEA, the Assistant Treasurer EMEA West is the business leader for Treasury operation within European Union.
He has the primary responsibility for the cash and liquidity management of the west part of EMEA, in compliance with SOX, company policies and IFRS/USGAAP.
This position also is responsible for interacting with the SBU Finance Leadership, Countries Leadership, Corporate Treasury Team to ensure the Countries and SBU finance goals and objectives are achieved.
Your main responsibilities:
- Proactively manage relationships with key banking partners / financial institutions to understand financial markets, identify/develop financial solutions, explain firm's strategies/results, and negotiate credit facilities to fund operations and investment requirements
- Drive and develop cash management with global treasury to ensure that the Region/Countries have the required liquidity to cover its requirements.
- Manage cash forecasting in partnership with regional / local FP&A to provide visibility to local leadership and regional treasury.
- Develop strategies to reduce working capital, maximize cash repatriation and support liquidity needs globally
- Develop financial solutions to enable the Firm to achieve its objectives; provide support to sales and purchasing departments by developing financial solutions to support our customers and suppliers.
- Develop talent for the finance organization, maintain highly trained, motivated, effective associates for replacement and advancement within the organization.
- Develop strategies to ensure the company's risk exposures are minimized; ensure the company is adequately insured to protect against potential losses for those risks not covered at corporate level.
- Manage the Region foreign currency requirements and provide local leadership and regional treasury visibility and assessment on this exposure.
- Maintain a strong control environment, including review, document and improve procedures related to Treasury operations, internal controls and SOX requirements; ensure strict compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Maintain effective communication and relationship with country finance teams, Regional Finance Team, and Corporate Treasury
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The successful candidate will have:
- Graduated with a master’s degree in Finance / Economic / Accounting
- At least, 10 years’ experience in Finance, including 5 years in Treasury.
- In-depth knowledge of treasury operations, financial solutions and accounting concepts
- Experience working with multi-national corporations, in a centralized environment
- Excellent leadership and team building attributes
- Proven ability to develop close relationships with financial institutions, including banking partners and development banks
- Highly organized and has ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
- Strong willingness to challenge, develop, improve the organization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a perfect command of English is required (German would be a plus)
