SENIOR FINANCIAL & BANKING ACCOUNTANT (M/F)
THE JOB :
This is a new position within the Luxembourg Accounting Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for certain BAU and project tasks and will report to the Head of Accounting.
Strong financial skills are required due to the varied, often complex nature of work being performed.
Main responsibilities of the Accounting Department:
- General-ledger Accounting and related reconciliations in accordance with IFRS
- Corporate reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- Treasury Accounting and related system reconciliations
- Inter-company accounting
- Month-end and year-end close
- Compliance with local and corporate accounting policies
- Liaison with auditors and preparation for audits
- Management of accounting projects, processes and technology
- Certain taxation responsibilities, including transfer pricing
- Developing and maintaining internal controls
- Maintenance of accounting infrastructure and reference data
- Full Accounting Function for certain small entities domiciled in the location, including preparation of financial statements and liaising with auditors
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE :
- Financial Accounting degree, preferably qualified chartered accountant
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Detailed knowledge of IFRS & US GAAP. Knowledge of Lux GAAP will be an advantage
- Strong people Management skills
- Very good presentation and communication skills
- Strong project management skills and experience
- Very strong English (written and verbal). French will be an advantage
- Good PC application knowledge necessary; MS Office
- Knowledge of local regulatory environment is an advantage
- Knowledge of MS office and Accounting Systems (preferably SUN)
- Ability to identify and address process gaps and implement improvements
- Experience in a multi-national and changing environment
- Comfortable with a changing environment
- Must be proactive, have a positive attitude and be a good team player
