Our client, a well established Investment Management Group with offices in 20 countries, is currently recruiting a Real Estate Financial Controller (M/F) for its newly opened Luxembourg office. It is intended that the new structure will incur significant growth in the coming years and offers a truly dynamic career path with an exciting organisation.
The successful candidate will lead the Funds’ financial accounting, reporting and control activities across the group of companies, while ensuring they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice and IRE’s policies and procedures.
The Role
• Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Funds and their subsidiaries’ finances
• Supervise the Fund accounting, which includes reviewing and validating the quarterly accounts of the Luxembourg and non-Luxembourg subsidiaries in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Prepare the quarterly IFRS consolidation at Fund level, including IFRS adjustments, deferred tax and revaluation of financial instruments.
• Prepare/review statutory accounts for the group of companies
• Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls.
• Monitor and support taxation issues.
• Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information.
• Mandate of Director on some Luxembourg companies.
Your Profile
• At least a University degree (Accounting or Finance)
• Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of providing Financial Control across a group of companies
• A minimum of eight years’ experience preferably gained within the real estate sector
• Experience of managing staff within the Accounts department
• Sound and up to date knowledge of LuxGAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles, along with knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
• IFRS Consolidation
• Proficient in use of accounting software like workbooks, Microsoft Excel
• Fluent in English and German or French
• Attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with problem analysis and problem-solving skills
• Posses communication skills and the ability to take initiative
• You are stress tolerant
