Real Estate Financial Controller: Global Asset Management Firm – New Luxembourg Operation.
The Opportunity
You will have the unique opportunity to join an international Asset Management firm providing real estate investment solutions and to participate in their project of in-sourcing the accounting activities from an external service provider.
You will be one of the pioneers for the growth of this company in Luxembourg which is currently composed of 3 people.

The Responsibilities
- To lead the Funds’ financial accounting, reporting and control activities across the group of companies and to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice and internal policies and procedures.
- Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Funds and their subsidiaries’ finances.
- Supervision of Fund accounting, including review and validation of the quarterly accounts of the Luxembourg and non-Luxembourg subsidiaries in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Preparation of the quarterly IFRS consolidation at Fund level, including IFRS adjustments, deferred tax and revaluation of financial instruments.
- Prepare/review statutory accounts for the group of companies
- Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls.
- Monitor and support taxation issues.
- Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information.
- Mandate of Director on some Luxembourg companies
The Competencies:
- Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of providing Financial Control across a group of companies
- A minimum of eight years’ experience preferably gained within the real estate sector
- Experience of managing staff within the Accounts department
- Sound and up to date knowledge of LuxGAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Knowledge of auditing and practices and principles
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
- IFRS Consolidation experience
- Qualified accountant
- Proficient in use of accounting software like workbooks, Microsoft Excel
- Fluent in English and German or French
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Judgment and problem-solving
- Supervisory skills
- Stress tolerance
