The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University. Since 2013 the University of Luxembourg and specifically the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance is cooperating in the field of legal higher education with the National University of Laos, specifically the Faculty of Law and Political Science. The objective of this Cooperation is to establish a framework for academic collaboration between both Universities and to develop the rule of law and human rights through higher education thus teaching and training the legal research skills of Lao teachers and students. This collaboration includes exchanges of faculty members, students, researchers and staff.

 

In the framework of the cooperation between both universities, we are recruiting through a consulting contract for a maximum period of 2 years a:

 

Liaison Officer (m/f) based in Vientiane

 

 

His/Her specific responsibilities are, but not limited to:

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities occurring at the Faculty

  • Guiding legal research workshops for each respective department

  • Providing assistance to draft papers

  • Preparing budget documentation for the members of the monitoring and steering committee

  • Organization of workshops throughout the country to prevent human trafficking, anti-money laundering and combatting corruption

  • Preparing students for the moot court competition organized by the ICR (International Committee of the Red Cross) on international humanitarian law

  • Setting up research visits for Lao researchers to Luxembourg

  • Organizing visiting professor scheme

  • Relationship Management with the Luxembourgish government and NGOs in Laos

 

Profile:

  • Master Diploma in Law, with a specialization in International Law, Human Rights Law or Criminal Law

  • PHD Degree is considered as an asset

  • Experience with an internal working environment, ideally in developing countries will be considered as an asset

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Fluent in English, French and German are considered as a plus
